Description
Honey dry fruit sweets are a delicious and nutritious treat that combines the natural sweetness of honey with a variety of dried fruits and nuts. Here’s a simple recipe to make honey dry fruit sweets:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup mixed dried fruits (such as almonds, cashews, pistachios, raisins, and apricots)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder (optional)
- Silvered almonds or pistachios for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Start by finely chopping the mixed dried fruits. You can use a food processor to make this step easier, but make sure not to turn them into a paste; you want small pieces for texture.
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee over low heat. Once the ghee is melted, add the chopped dried fruits to the pan.
- Roast the dried fruits in the ghee for about 5-7 minutes, or until they become fragrant and start to turn golden brown. Keep stirring to prevent burning.
- Reduce the heat to low, add the honey to the pan, and mix well with the roasted dried fruits. Continue cooking and stirring for another 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- If you like, you can add cardamom powder for extra flavor at this stage. Mix it in thoroughly.
- Once the mixture is ready, remove it from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Grease your hands with a little ghee to prevent sticking, and then shape the mixture into small, bite-sized balls or squares.
- Optionally, garnish each sweet with slivered almonds or pistachios.
- Let the honey dry fruit sweets cool completely and firm up. You can place them on a parchment paper-lined tray to prevent sticking.
- Once they have cooled and set, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They will stay fresh for a few weeks.
Enjoy your homemade honey dry fruit sweets as a delightful and healthy snack or dessert! These sweets are not only delicious but also packed with the goodness of dried fruits and the natural sweetness of honey
